I love Sound as a medium because there is magic in manipulating an aspect of our perception that is never seen, but deeply felt. There are many opportunities to express ways to tell stories through sound and my goal is to achieve that with the sincere efforts of a storyteller.

Bio

Philippine born and Houstonian native, Annalisa Cuano developed a passion for various creative technical fields and broadcasting at an early age. She was involved in different school broadcasting programs all throughout Elementary and High School. Her passion motivated her to pursue a Film degree but later switched to Sound Design at SCAD (Savannah College of Arts and Design).  After graduating, she worked around the Houston area as a recording and performing foley artist for local film productions before joining a non-profit organization called Purple Songs Can Fly.  She leads songwriting sessions and produces originals with and for children in the pediatric oncology and hematology center at Texas Children’s Hospital. She continues to be involved with Purple Songs Can Fly as a recording engineer and songwriter, and also freelances as a sound designer and editor.

In May of 2022, Annalisa earned her MBA from Texas Woman’s University, motivated to step into more leadership roles. Outside of the purple studio, she indulges in other creative passions in songwriting, writing projects for NaNoWriMo, and creating art with kindred spirits.
